Cars in Germany's City Found Marked with Nazi Symbols in Human Blood, Law Enforcement Confirm

Police stated they were notified by a man who found a vehicle in Hanau covered with red-colored fluid

Roughly 50 cars have been marked with what appears to be blood from a person in the Germany's city of Hanau near Frankfurt, police confirm authorities.

Cars, building surfaces and postal boxes were vandalized, occasionally with Nazi symbols, they announced in a statement.

Police say they were contacted in the late hours on Wednesday, when a resident noticed that a vehicle in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been smeared with a red-colored fluid.

The fluid had been drawn in the form of a banned symbol, they reported.

Police then located multiple other vandalized automobiles and building exteriors in the surrounding area.

Swastikas are prohibited in Germany under laws banning the public exhibition of Nazi symbols.

Law enforcement state preliminary tests show the liquid was most likely human bodily fluid.

"There is still no clue as to its source; officials are currently not aware of any injuries in relation with the event," they commented.

Local authorities stated they were trying "to solve the mystery" and have requested to the public for details.

An important official commented the incident made him speechless and had to be addressed rapidly.

"This event strikes at the core of Hanau and revives the pain of the right-wing terrorist attack half a decade ago," he wrote on a platform, referring to the murder of nine individuals by a shooter focusing on residents of immigrant origin in February 2020.
